Take this extended adventure to see the local legendary Big Cypress tree! This tree is thought to be well over a hundred years old. This is our longest guided kayak tour of the Amelia Island area. This guided kayak tour takes you deeper into the native areas of Lofton Creek, and the deeper in you get, the more challenging it can be! The creek narrows in some areas and can have more natural obstacles to navigate around, such as fallen trees, logs, floating vegetation, etc. The challenge of navigating this more primitive part of the creek can be affected by tide as well.  This 3-hour paddle will bring you through the black water lined by cypress trees, sweet gum trees, pine trees, Spanish moss, pickerelweed, duck potato, swamp roses, wild azalea, and so much more.  You will enjoy  your tour on this fresh water creek with the characteristic black or 'stained' water that comes from tannic acid formed as plants decay.  This creates a transparent, acidic water that reflects the scenery around it like a mirror.  This makes for an amazing eco tour and beautiful photographic opportunities.
